This training centre for fire fighters includes multiple building types to provide a wide range of scenarios under live fire situations.
We provided design services for mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and gas infrastructure, including inert gases for a mock-up service station, a multi-storey building 'fire' and even a railway car. We also designed street lighting, with adjustable poles which could be lowered onto cars to simulate crashes.
Particular challenges on this project included designing reusable live fire facilities and explosion props suitable for the harsh environments and extreme hazards of multiple fire simulations, in multiple building types from a domestic house, train tunnel, to the inside of a ship.
